 The Bill of Rights (Know them!)

  • Bill of Rights limit only actions taken
    by the federal government against people.
     
  • The Founders assumed citizens would beprotected by their home statesíconstitution.
     
  • For this reason, the Bill of Rights did not
    strongly impact Americansí lives until the
    Fourteenth Amendment was passed.
  • The Fourteenth Amendment's Due Process  applied the Bill of
