Answer the questions  (listed below) and examine the Scientific Imagery.  For the final you should be able to identify, argue and support how and why the  changes from the Classical to medieval to the Scientific Revolution occurred. 

 

1) How did the Greeks lay the foundation for modern science?

2) What are the scientists' specific ideas regarding the relationship between science and the Bible? How does this help to explain the "loss" of science during the Middle Ages?

3) Could these scientific ideas be considered dangerous by the Catholic Church? Why or why not?

4) Martin Luther once said "Reason is the greatest enemy that faith has. It never comes to the aid of spiritual things, but...struggles against the divine Word, treating with contempt all that emanates from God. Do you think this is true? How would the scientists below respond to this statement?
